In 1988 Dr. Kathryn Biery and Dr. Stephen Paulette began their dental practice in order to provide premium dental care for the Shenandoah Valley and beyond. With continued expansion of services and the addition of new doctors, the practice grew into The Mountain View Dental Team in 2003. Not only have the offices of Dr's Biery and Paulette changed their name, they have also changed their location. The new Mountain View Dental Team office is located at 4100 Quarles Court, Harrisonburg. This location is easy to find, just a mile east of the city of Harrisonburg, off route 33, behind the new Quarles gas station. With ample parking and expanded treatment areas, Mountain View Dental Team can meet all of your dental needs in comfort.
The Mountain View Dental Team offers all types of dental services; oral and maxillofacial surgery, family dentistry, pediatric dentistry and the ability to supply general anesthesia. Whether you need cosmetic dentistry such as implants and tooth whitening, bridges, crowns or simply a cleaning, Mountain View Dental Team is here to serve patients with the utmost care and concern.
Dr. Biery and Dr. Paulette were married in 1987 and began their practice as a team. Dr. Paulette is the chief oral surgeon at Mountain View Dental Team as well as a pediatric dentist. Dr. Paulette grew up in Richmond, VA and completed his college education at Hampden-Sydney College. From there he attended the Medical College of VA School of Dentistry. After serving as a dentist in the U.S. ARMY for 3 years, he discovered a desire to focus on the treatment of children. Dr. Paulette completed his hospital pediatric dentistry training at the Children's Medical Center of Pittsburg in 1983. To further his desire to treat children and pediatric trauma, he chose to spend another four years in oral surgery. Dr. Paulette completed his specialty in oral and maxillofacial surgery the summer of 1987. In the spring of 2003 Dr. Paulette was called to active duty serving in Iraq and Kuwait as a Commander in the United States Naval Reserves. Dr. Paulette feels his experience serving his country was extremely rewarding. The overwhelming support of his family, friends, staff and the community was very humbling. Being away was difficult, however knowing that he had so much support back home made it easier. Free time for Dr. Paulette means a chance to exercise to stay in shape and spend time with his large family and awesome wife. Together they have seven children and five grandchildren.
Dr. Kathryn Biery is a general dentist with advanced training in dental anesthesia. Of course juggling a busy professional practice and a family is a courageous feat for any women but Dr. Biery handles all of it with a smile. With the recent birth of their fifth grandchild, the family continues to grow and the joys become greater every day. Dr. Biery grew up in Northville, Michigan. Her family then relocated to Staunton, VA where she attended R.E. Lee High School. Dr. Biery is a Hokie, having graduated from Virginia Tech and then received her dental degree and dental anesthesiology training at the Medical College of VA School of Dentistry. Dr. Biery does not claim much free time, however when not spending time with her children and grandchildren, Dr. Biery enjoys traveling and practicing her newly revived golf game.
The part of their practice that she enjoys most is helping patients overcome their fear of treatment. At the Mountain View Dental Team a "no pain" philosophy is in place. Many adults as well as children are afraid of treatment. Comfort is an important part of the overall goal.
